New forms of social alienations are emerging that trigger drug use, as in the case of anorexia, bulimia or self-harm, which is increasing amongst youngsters. A worrying trend is also pathological gambling, which is in the hands of criminal organizations. This is becoming
a social epidemic. The alienation of the younger generation and the role of educational agencies is at the center of this debate.
